Getting together and camping with a group of friends or family can be such a good time. You have a chance to get caught up with each other, share stories, and introduce new additions to the group. Organizing one can be easy, too, if you take advantage of a few tips for group camping success.
Designate an Organizer – having one person to be the main contact for all group communication is very helpful. That person can be the one to call the campground and inform them of the group’s camping dates, names of families, types of campsites, and any special needs during your stay. When you have one person who handles all the details, you reduce the chance of anything important slipping through the cracks.
Create a Calendar – You can use a shared Google calendar or any other app you prefer. List the days and times of your planned activities and a duty schedule for everyone involved. Distribute the calendar to everyone in the group so they all know where they need to be and what time they need to be there. Designate which families are bringing what gear. You’ll save everyone a lot of packing if you share resources such as grills, coolers, lawn games, etc.
The beauty of camping in a group is the shared time over meals, a game of horseshoes, or even a trip into town. You may have a blend of generations or people from far away states and getting back together to share stories with each other builds strong bonds within the group.
We hope you’ll join us with your camping group and we look forward to working with you to make your camping trip a memorable one. Give us a call to discuss the details. We can’t wait to see you having fun around the campground.
